blog 7

English class has never been my strong point in school. I have always had a lack of interest in all my English classes. Frighten to misspell a word or do a work wrong. May have been the reasons for not having the interest of participating more. But for a strange reason in Dr. C. Jason Smith class has awaken an interest in learning and participating more. I know i have miss two or three days of class. But not for laziness but cause of personal emergencies. Dr. C. Jason Smith is an awesome teacher who makes one grab interest in anything he ask us to do. I have learned new ways to do a better summary, essay, and drafts. With this ill definitely have a better score on the CAT-writing exam. I have more challenges i want to overcome. I believe in this class i will overcome this challenges and become a better writer. Write more clearly and right to the point. With determination i know i will do so. Theres is much more to learn in this class and hope to get all the knowledge i can out of this class. Thanks Dr. C. Jason Smith.

Blog 5: Summary "Allegory of the Cave"

The "Allegory of the cave" is a dialogue between Socrates and Glaucon. Socrates is describes to Glaucona to imagine a cave. Inside the cave prisoners are chained from there legs, arms and neck since there childhood. The cave is also used as a walkway. The walkway is located behind them. Theres also a enormous fire between the prisoners and the walkway. The fire makes shadows cast by the peolple that cross the walkway. Theses shadows are reflected to the big wall infront of the prisoners. The prisoners see different forms of shadows. This is because people cross with different objects. The prisoners also hear echoes from the wall made by the walkway. The prisoners have view shadows and heard  echoes for years since there childhood. There knowledge is based on all of what they have seen and heard. They dont know more than what they have seen and heard. If a prisoner is released and is brought out  the cave. The prisoner would be confused and disturb of what he sees. As time goes by he would understand things and see everything more clearly. He would have gain more knowledge of he knew before coming out the cave. He would go back to his fellow prisoners and would try to speak and tell them of what he has learned. But they would not undestand what he is speaking. He is just another shadow and echo.
